Millions of people across Africa face serious challenges when it comes to moving and managing money. Sending funds across borders is expensive and restricted. Receiving money from abroad is slow, costly, and comes with exchange rates that only benefit the banks. Even saving money through local banks offers little to no return and often loses value over time. Converting crypto to cash is just as difficult, limited by banking policies, unreliable peer-to-peer trades, and no secure structure. RendBit is being built to solve these problems. It’s a financial platform powered by the Stellar blockchain that makes sending, receiving, converting, and saving money fast, secure, and affordable. Users will be able to send money directly to any bank across countries, convert crypto to fiat without middlemen, and save in stablecoins that hold real value, not rates manipulated by banks. We’re also building a Token Launch Pad, a simple way for creators, communities, and developers to create and trade their own tokens. It’s about unlocking financial access, giving people the tools to grow wealth, and bringing real utility to the Stellar network. This is a previously initially funded project. Our apps aids financially underserved refugees and unbanked individuals in sub-Saharan Africa. Many Africans lack adequate banking. For example, 350 Million people are unbanked in Sub-Saharan Africa. Also, Millions of refugees don’t have financial access. Refugees often encounter hurdles accessing traditional banking due to language barriers, documentation challenges, and unfamiliarity with other financial options. Our app, utilizing Stellar, tackles these issues by providing vital services like remittance, digital wallets, payments, crowd funding, rotating savings and credit associations, and virtual cards. These solutions are crafted to offer refugees and unbanked individuals secure and affordable access to financial services, bolstering their financial inclusion and stability. Now we have been funded Initial funding in previous round of SCF # 29. We were supposed to deliver basic payment and remittance functionality. We have done that. Additionally after we were recommended to show traction after we applied for #35, we have launched closed beta with 125 users and have gotten rave response and people are already using this app. And we want to progress to the next phase of development, which is developing, the remaining functionalities, such as crowd funding, rotating savings and credit associations, and virtual cards, and launch on Testnet.

Juntta

Juntta is the first transparent crowdfunding platform built in Peru, addressing the trust gap in digital fundraising across Latin America. It allows individuals, NGOs, and companies to launch verified campaigns in minutes, share their stories with images and updates, display real-time progress, and publish a complete donor list. Donations currently flow through local payment rails (Yape, Plin, bank transfers) and credit/debit cards, both domestic and international. After winning the Stellar Ideathon 2025, we developed a working prototype that connects traditional payment methods with a blockchain-ready backend. With SCF Build, Juntta will integrate the Stellar network to bring full on-chain transparency to donations and fund management. Each contribution will trigger a transaction on Stellar, generating a verifiable record stored in the public ledger and displayed on a real-time dashboard. Smart contracts built on Soroban will escrow donations, automate milestone-based releases, and record fund movement between wallets. A custom API layer will index blockchain data, synchronize it with Juntta’s Web2 interface, and allow third parties—such as NGOs or CSR programs—to connect seamlessly. Our MVP focuses on verified social impact campaigns in Peru, aiming to digitize a market that remains mostly offline. Upcoming features include Juntta Rifas, a transparent raffle tool for NGOs and creators, and Juntta Empresas, built for companies running CSR initiatives. Stellar’s low-cost, borderless infrastructure will enable expansion across LATAM. Led by a multidisciplinary team in fintech, social impact, and software engineering, Juntta’s mission is to rebuild trust in digital giving and make transparent fundraising accessible to everyone in Latin America.

Hurupay

Hurupay proposes to launch a virtual accounts program for freelancers, remote workers and businesses that will leverage the USDC stablecoin on Stellar as the underlying infrastructure. The goal is to provide these users with a dedicated US account and routing number in their name to accept payroll from platforms like Deel and Remote, or payouts from services like YouTube, Spotify, and TikTok.This functionality will operate as follows: Each remote worker will have their virtual account linked to their Stellar wallet address. An employer in the US will make USD payment to the virtual account and the payment is settled into the user's wallet as USDC stablecoin. Users can then decide to hold their funds in stablecoins on their wallets or quickly and easily offramp local currency.
